Somewhere on the journey we can take a wrong turn that leads to crooked paths, long delays and endless detours. Getting back on the right path isn’t so much about going backwards to where you were lost in the first place, as it is about seeking the light that illuminates the on ramp to the road of life.
Jesus Christ said “I am the light that shines through the cosmos; if you walk with Me, you will thrive in the nourishing light that gives life and will not know darkness.” We all stumble and fall short of perfection but God so loves us that He sent His only beloved son Jesus to illuminate the darkness so we could walk in the light ever connected to Him.
God who created us for relationship sent His son in human form so we could know Him. Jesus is the exact representation of the glory of God. If we desire to know God, we can know Jesus. If we desire to understand God, we can look to Jesus.
Jesus left everything to come to earth and dwell among us. He moved into the neighborhood and embraced us, healed us and set us free. He gave His life for you and me at the cross on Calvary. God then raised Him from the dead for our justification, and now Jesus is in Heaven interceding for us at the right hand of the Father.
The more we seek the Light of the World, the more our path will be illuminated. We will know which paths to take and decisions to make. As we rest in God’s unconditional, radical and endless love, we will find ourselves on that road that leads to abundant, unending, sustaining and everlasting life.
John 8:12 (The Voice) - “I am the light that shines through the cosmos; if you walk with Me, you will thrive in the nourishing light that gives life and will not know darkness.”
