In life we encounter heavy and difficult situations. If we only focus on these negative things, we’ll become narrow-minded cynics. The truth is, there is darkness and heaviness all around us but there is also beauty and goodness too; sometimes we need to choose which one we focus on.
King David wrote Psalm 103, which is a beautiful glimpse of the covenant we have with our Lord Jesus as we enter into relationship with Him. David faced a lot of challenges in his life, but through them all he praised God! In this passage He praises God for His benefits: the forgiveness of all sins, the healing of all diseases, and the redemption from the pit of life.
David also praises God for who He is: a loving Father who crowns us with lovingkindness and compassion, and satisfies our years with good things, so that our youth is renewed like then eagle.
When we remind our souls of God’s magnificence and all of His benefits despite our negative circumstances, we magnify Him in our lives and remember who He is, what He has done and what He will do. When we set our focus on Him, we are reminded that He is the Infinite God of the Universe and able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can hope, think or ask!
Psalm 103:3-5 (MSG) -

He heals your diseases—every one.
He redeems you from hell—saves your life!
He crowns you with love and mercy—a paradise crown.
He wraps you in goodness—beauty eternal.
