When we enter a relationship with our Heavenly Father, we have an open door to converse and commune with Him. When we spend time throughout the day in intimate moments with Him in worship and prayer, we are filled, equipped and empowered for all that is ahead of us. During these times our spirit is aligned with His, our desires become His desires and whatever we ask for will come to pass.
We are wired by Him for a unique purpose on this planet. There has been special code put into our DNA, and the way we learn about our Top Secret assignments in life is by spending time with the Great Designer. He alone has put all the gifts, talents and functions into each and everyone of us, and knows the timing for when we will need them.
When we get busy or distracted and begin to ignore our prayer and devotional times with our Father God, we turn to ourselves to solve all our problems. Then we begin to forget our true identity and purpose in life because we become "self-reliant". Being self-reliant has a false ring of humility, but in reality, it is pride; and pride always comes before a fall. True humility comes with the understanding that your life is interwoven with others and that you need God and others to fulfill your destiny.
Just like the branch that only thrives when connected to the vine, so our holistic lives, body, spirit and soul, only thrive, blossom and flourish when we are joined to Jesus in daily prayer and worship. These daily times of prayer will bear the fruit of maturity which brings glory to God!
“I am the Vine, you are the branches. When you’re joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can’t produce a thing. Anyone who separates from me is deadwood, gathered up and thrown on the bonfire. But if you make yourselves at home with me and my words are at home in you, you can be sure that whatever you ask will be listened to and acted upon. This is how my Father shows who he is—when you produce grapes, when you mature as my disciples. - John 15:7-8 MSG
