As we enter new seasons of life, we can allow past experiences to rob our joy and stifle our hope. When situations have not turned out as we had hoped, we can become very skeptical people who only see the negative.
The Bible says that hope deferred makes the heart sick but desire fulfilled is a tree of life (Proverbs 13:12). When we come into relationship with God by accepting Jesus into our heart, we come into relationship with the God of all possibilities.
As we daily come to God in prayer, worship, reading and meditating on the Word, we can exchange all of our discouragement and disappointment for God’s hope and strength. As we immerse ourselves in God’s presence we will see our hope effortlessly rise and our expectations lift.
As we commit our plans to God, He will bring to pass everything He has put in our hearts, in His perfect timing. There is nothing too small or too big for God. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly more than we can hope, think or ask; and as we grow in our relationship with Him, we will see His faithfulness time after time and become people who walk with a constant expectation of good.

Somewhere along the path of life we may have forgotten why we are here. We can think it is to have a nice life and to make it through, but the truth is we are here for a purpose.
God made us to bear His image. He fashioned us with our strengths, giftings, talents and abilities. He designed our unique DNA and intricate fingerprints. We are marked for destiny.
We were placed on the planet to flourish and thrive. However, when we lost our connection to our creator we began to wither and decay. The world became upside down and we became disconnected. We couldn’t see the God who made us.
The God of Heaven and Earth sent His only begotten son to earth to rescue, redeem, restore and reconnect us back to Himself. As we receive Jesus and His finished work, we receive son and daughtership.
As children of God we carry authority on the planet. As we step into our calling we bring the Kingdom of Heaven to Planet Earth as we serve, love and help others. As we receive the abundant supply of grace and the gift of righteousness we reign in life.
We can face things in life that do not have a simple answer. We can try to ignore the situation, stifle the pain and pretend that everything is just fine. However, things that we bury do not die, they just fester and eventually come to the surface - usually at the wrong time.
When life is hard, we can remember that we have an everlasting hope. We can come to the throne room of grace in time of need. God loves us so much that He sent His precious son Jesus to earth for us, so we could forever be connected to Him.
Jesus lived the overcoming victorious life for us, died on the cross as us and was raised from the dead for our justification. Now we can exchange everything in life that tries to drag us down for Jesus’ light and easy yoke.
As we cultivate our relationship with the living God, we can bring our trauma, pain, sorrow, sadness, depression and anxiety to Him in prayer; and in exchange receive His hope, healing, joy, peace, wholeness, sense of well-being and an ongoing expectation of good.
Matthew 11:28-30 - (NASB) - Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
In life we can feel as if we are just here to survive and muddle through. However, nothing is farther than the truth. We were made in the image of the creator of the universe and He blessed us to create, lead and succeed.
As long as we were connected to the God of the universe we flourished. However, when we lost our connection and our perfect world we began to wither and fade. God loved us too much to leave us that way. He sent His only begotten son to earth on a search and rescue mission.
God became flesh and moved into the neighborhood. He dwelt among us, embraced us, healed us and set us free. Jesus gave His life for you and me at the cross on Calvary. Now we can receive His atoning finished work at the cross and be beloved children of God.
As children in relationship with our Heavenly Father we are able to step into our full design. As we receive God’s endless love, unmerited favor, gift of righteousness and the abundant supply of grace we reign in life. As we grow in knowing and understanding our righteous status in Jesus, we will be like a tree replanted in Eden flourishing in every realm.
Jesus told his followers not to worry about tomorrow. Of all of Jesus’s sayings we sometimes feel that this is the hardest one. We believe walking on water would be a cakewalk and raising somebody from the dead would be a snap compared to actually not worrying about tomorrow.
When we find ourselves worrying about something we have no control over, we simply need to settle ourselves for a second and remember that God is for us. When the God of the universe is our Heavenly Father, we need not worry because we can go to Him at anytime for help for anything. His grace is sufficient for every need we have.
God generously gives us grace for today’s problems. There is no grace for future events that might not even happen. That is why it is important to stay in the present with the strength God has given us, and tackle the problems we face today.
The reason we don’t need to worry about tomorrow is that tomorrow we will have the grace for that day. So relax and enjoy the present knowing God’s grace is ever available for every and any need.
Matthew 6:34 (NASB)
“So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
Life can be surprising. We can think we have everything figured out and then life throws us a curveball. If our security is in anything ‘shakeable,’ then we can live a very up and down emotionally turmoiled life.
God is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent and omnibenevolent. He has always existed and He always will. God created us in His image and placed eternity in our hearts. We long for the perfect and everlasting but we will never fully know those things this side of eternity.
However, we can have our confidence in the Forever God. As we receive Jesus into our heart, we can become anchored in the eternal. No matter what happens on the outside in this upside down world, our inside world can remain right side up.
As we lean on and fully depend on Eternity’s King, we can begin to relax into His capable strong arms. God is for us, with us and on our side. He will never leave us nor forsake us. The more we know Jesus, the more we will find peace that transcends understanding no matter what this world throws at us.
Hebrews 12:26-27 - At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens. The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.
