Life can seem out of control and as if the world is falling apart. The truth is that if we only focus on what we can see with our natural eyes we can become very hopeless. There is another reality that we cannot see with our eyes but we can feel with our heart.
When we come into relationship with the God of Hope through accepting Jesus into our hearts, we can receive His peace. This peace is not like the peace we know in the world. It is not external. It is not relaxation when everything goes well. It is a supernatural quality of God that He imputes to us, when we spend time with Him in prayer, worship and reading the Word.
This peace actually guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). So, when we are confronted with circumstances in our lives that we do not like or obstacles beyond our control, we can stay at peace and rest, and resist anxiety, stress and fear.
Even when our lives are in upheaval we can receive the peace of God that surpasses all understanding. And as we quiet ourselves in the presence of the Lord, we will receive His joy, peace and comfort while sensing which roads He would have us take and the decisions He would have us make. It is in His beautiful presence we are made whole, restored and step fully into our destiny and purpose.
Philippians 4:7 (MSG) - Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
