A plant's ability to flourish is determined on many variables, it’s access to sunlight, water, the health of the soil and the health of its roots. When the plant’s roots go down deep they are able to spread out into the soil, and receive the nourishment they need. The plant will grow strong and tall, able to flourish and thrive.
Paul the Apostle said that we are God’s vineyard, the garden, the house where God dwells. As we plant our lives in the community of believers, the church, our roots will go down deep. The more we are connected with God’s people, the more our lives will flourish.
As we invest our whole selves, our time, talent and treasure, into God’s spiritual house, His church, we will find that our lives and destiny are intertwined with others. As we seek Him and the cause of Christ together, God will weave a beautiful tapestry of His purpose and plans. We will fulfill our specific call, destiny and purpose as we are a part of something bigger than ourselves.
1 Corinthians 3:9 - ...You are the vineyard, the garden, the house where God dwells.
